Daily participation in professional development sessions.Commitment to the entire summer session is required.Attend mandatory orientation and trainings on June 29 through July 1, 2022.At the end of the summer, interns will have completed a portfolio with work from daily classroom and professional development sessions, co-led a professional development session, gained leadership skills, and developed a culminating Hustle project that they will showcase for other GO Project interns, staff members, board members, and community supporters. Interns will also be participating in rigorous daily professional development sessions where a strong social justice-centered curriculum and required readings and assignments will form the core framework for the internship. Afternoon interns will provide support in a particular enrichment activity, such as art, theater, ballet, hip-hop, capoeira, yoga, and more. Morning interns will provide support in an academic classroom setting for math and literacy.

Interns will work in small groups or one-to-one within the classroom to help students complete projects, remain focused, and build confidence as learners. During the five-week GO Summer program, interns will be supporting instruction in one of our K – 4 classrooms under the guidance of a Head Teacher or Enrichment Teacher. The GO Project summer internship is an opportunity for high school students to learn and develop leadership skills while working with GO Project students in academic and/or enrichment classes. Live panel sessions will be recorded in order to disseminate to students who are unable to participate in the live session.

A brief orientation for volunteers prior to the panel will be provided in order to become more familiar with GO’s mission, the students we serve, and any logistical questions about participation.

Panels will run for approximately 30 minutes.Small panels of no more than five people at a time will join in conversation on a live virtual panel session moderated by a GO Project facilitator with approximately 10-15 students at a time. You will join other professionals, either of the same company or from other industries depending on employee interest.Our college and career readiness program seeks to expose students to new pathways and instill belief in pursuit of those pathways. GO runs college and career readiness programming throughout the school year for our upper-elementary and middle school students and would like you to participate in one of our professional panels. Share about your field of work and your specific career and/or college experience to inspire the next generation! Did you always know you were going to end up in your career? How did you get there? What inspires you to do the work you do every day? What tips can you share with students that you would have wanted to know when you were in sixth or seventh grade? Luke's for organizing large groups of volunteers to provide support in our Zoom reading rooms!Ĭollege and Career Pathways Panel - Virtual GO is grateful to volunteer groups from Brookfield, Branching Minds, McKinsey, and St. Volunteer readers logged on to lead book discussions with students in K-4 during the pandemic, providing a fun way for students to grow their love of reading in a non-academic setting. Assistance includes translation of documents shared with families (periodic, on-call basis) and/or joining Parent Teacher Conferences on Zoom. Provide translation assistance for GO parents and caregivers whose primary language is Spanish, Chinese Mandarin, or Chinese Cantonese. Activate your network for book donations to help build our students' home libraries. Organize a book drive for GO students! Volunteers commit to every Saturday morning during the fall and/or spring semesters, or daily for five weeks over the summer. Sign up to provide ongoing support in GO classrooms, either virtually or in person. There are multiple ways to get involved for individual and group volunteers across K-8 grade levels during weekday summer and school-year Saturday morning programming. GO Project needs your time and talent to enrich the learning experience of our students.
